Who we are

Ekkehard Goetting, APXG Partner, has an extensive business background in Asia-Pacific and a vast network of senior professionals in all key Asian markets.

Following a 10 year career in Western Canada, Montreal and Toronto in Business Consulting, with the main focus on energy and automotive industries, Ekkehard has served as Chairman and CEO of German Industry and Commerce Ltd. Hong Kong, South China, Vietnam in Hong Kong for 26 years. He also served as Chairman of German Industry and Commerce Greater China (Taicang) Ltd., from 2008-2015.

With over 26 years of business experience in Asia, with a strong focus on Greater China and Vietnam and a broad range of business sectors, he has led annual international business missions to Vietnam, Cambodia and Greater China from 1990 to onwards. Ekkehard established the first representative office of German Industry and Commerce Ltd. in Hanoi in 1994. He has provided business consulting and advisory primarily for German small and medium sized enterprises as well as multinationals such as Siemens AG, in their entry to Vietnam.

For more than 10 years, he has held the position of Coordinator, Asia-Pacific for a number of organizations such as the Asia-Pacific Committee of German Industry, the East Asia Business Association, the Association of German Banks, and the Association of German overseas wholesale, and retail trade. Also for some 9 years, he has served as a non-executive director on the board of VNI, Vietnam Infrastructure Ltd., an AIM listed company at the LSE. Further, he has 25 years of specific experience in the Asian and European Trade Fair sectors and has served as Chief Representative in China, Hong Kong and Vietnam for the Berlin, Hannover and Nuremberg Trade Fair Companies. In business development, he has also served as Chief Representative for the Port of Hamburg, as well as the Hamburg Business Development Corporation for China, Hong Kong and Vietnam.

Ekkehard has also held honorary positions as President and Vice President of the German Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong, and has served for many years on the Advisory Board of the European Studies Program at Hong Kong Baptist University. He completed his Studies of Law and Computer Science at the University of Hamburg in Germany.
